Martin Hopkins
Parramatta Road
Martin Hopkins Martin grew up in Thundersley, a small country town in South East Essex, England.
He studied visual communication (graphic design) at the University of the West of England, Bristol; and the Hochschule der Künst, Berlin. And it was here in the grittiness and history-filled streets that his passion for photography really took hold. Having grown up in a country town, he’s drawn to photographing the urban environment, and exploring its human traces.
Influenced by photographer William Eggleston, and artist Robert Rauschenberg, he likes to discover the curious among the commonplace. He now lives in Sydney with his partner – working as a designer for a brand consultancy, and taking photos for fun.
