Panayotis Ioannidis

Something is Happening

Panayotis Ioannidis was born in 1967 in athens, greece, where he now lives, after studying in the United Kingdom. He works with words and images. His photographs have been presented, since 2003, in group shows, web, and print media. He has produced two installations based on words and images: llel/lir/lyr (2006, together with maria konti), and les mains d’ hypnos (on poetry by rene char, 2011), written poems to accompany works of visual art, and taken part -by creating poetry on the spot- in the 2nd athens biennale / ‘heaven’ (2009). His first book of poems, to sosivio [“the lifesaver”, in greek], was published in 2008. Other poems, as well as translations of seamus heaney, andrew motion, thom gunn, and robert creeley, have been appearing in literary journals since 1996.
